Ben graduated from the University of Waterloo in 2011 with a Masters in Architecture. Previously, Ben completed a Bachelor of Architectural Studies at the University of Waterloo. He worked throughout Canada – including time with Proscenium – and the United States while attending university, and spent time studying in Rome.
Joining the Proscenium team as an Intern Architect after graduating, Ben has played key roles on a number of unique projects, including the Renovation of Christ Church Cathedral in downtown Vancouver, consisting of upgrades to the building envelope and the addition of a new bell tower. He is currently working as the project job captain for the MacLeod building renewal at UBC.
Ben has a preoccupation with material and meaning, and with finding ways to communicate through the built form at every scale. He has spent his time with Proscenium honing his skills on projects ranging from cultural feasibility studies to researching bells. On the majority of his projects, Ben is involved from schematic design through construction contract administration.
